Yep, go read it here and then come back and read the rest of this.

Two days ago, I was in Vegas on a mostly work trip with a little fun tucked in at the end. I saw an OLD OLD OLD friend. Emphasis on old. Somehow, I brought up my annual Valentines Day rant that was actually triggered by a stupid radio commercial for Sherries Berries. I brought it up again later that evening when we saw a commercial for a “Perfect Valentines Day” gift – a 4 foot stuffed bear.

LAME LAME LAME.

Yes, I’m probably bitter. I’ve waited a long time to find the right one, or at least someone who resembles Mr. Right now. I wasted a lot of time waiting.

Despite my bitterness, I still think that most of the Valentines Day marketing is lame. LAME LAME LAME. Let’s face it, most guys aren’t that proactive. They are going to pick up something at Walgreens (Flipflops, Valentines Day 2002) or forget totally (Valentines Day 2003).

Wow, the bitterness is strong in me today.

See, here is the thing. Much like I despise NYE, I don’t dig Valentines Day. It’s just not fun for me. I love the month of Me, aka, March. I love Christmas, Halloween, Hanukkah, and Fourth of July. I just don’t like the holidays that January & February have to offer. I think they kinda suck. Suck big.

In a way, I probably suck because I’m not out there spewing sweet thoughts of love, hope and passion. That’s just not me. Not how I roll. It’s not because I’m single. I was this way when I was dating someone. I just want someone to be a non- jerk, and somewhat romantical in July, not just a single day in February.

I also  miss hand made valentines. You know, the ones you used to pass around? Those were pretty cool.

But really, how can you argue that this commercial isn’t dreadful?
